Durst House -- designed by Architect John Williams

The Durst Family home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, built in 1951, is a modernist jewel designed by architect John G. Williams.  Williams was a professor and founder of the Architecture Department at the University of Arkansas.  He was also involved -- along with architect Ed Stone, David Durst and others -- in the development and creation of the Arts Center at the University of Arkansas.The Durst House is a two-level home built on the side of a hill adjacent to the University of Arkansas Campus and easy walking distance to the Arts Center.

The Durst home was filled with modernist furniture and Durst's and friends' artwork. It was a gathering place for the family's many friends and students in the arts and literature.



Hantz House --  designed by renowned Architect Fay Jones

The Hantz House is next door to the Durst House on Fairview Drive in Fayetteville.  The house, also two-level on the same hill, was designed by renowned architect E. Fay Jones when he was still an architecture student at the University of Arkansas.  The house was designed and built for Dr. Harold and Katherine Hantz in 1950.  They were good neighbors and friends of the Durst Family for many years.  The house is now owned by the Durst Family.
